Seeing auras

Many people experience seeing auras.  I’m not one of them. I can’t definitively say what aura’s are, aside from the vague conception that they are some kind of spiritual life force frequency emanating from people that someone is picking up on visually.

But many seers are definitely seeing auras.  It took our seer daughter a long time before realizing her parents couldn’t see the auras she was seeing around people and some objects.

Check out this account in the Bible:

Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles… And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them.  The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed. (Acts 5:12-16 ESV, emphasis added).

Peter and his friends were laying hands on people to heal them. This passage implies that healing would come by the very shadow of Peter touching the sick.

Or is it suggesting something else? Could it indicate something else about being in close proximity to Peter was extending healing? Like perhaps his aura?

I’m leading a small group with 10 adults and we are reading “Do What Jesus Did” by Robby Dawkins.  This event was brought up, and one of the women, whom I had only met in our small group, said, “You’re reading it too literally. It wasn’t his shadow that was healing him. Power was radiating from him.”

She paused, and I offered, “Like, his aura?”

She answered, “Yes.”

Interesting timing. I wonder if she is a seer.  I say it was interesting because of what had happened earlier in my day.

At church, a couple weeks ago, it was revealed to me that a newer member of the church was a seer, and had only recently found a church that was helping him process what he saw in the spirit realm all his life. I gave him my card with this website on it.

This week, I arrived at the first service late. I quietly slipped into a seat during the sermon behind him and his wife. I noted he half turned to see me, and smiled.

Later, he said, “I see auras.” He spoke about what he saw to another man there (also a seer, Gerry, who has written on this site). He said to me, “I sensed you arrive in the parking lot. Well, I didn’t know it was you, but I sensed the power that is in you. And then I felt you sitting behind me.”

I just looked at him, humbled somewhat and processing what he was saying. And then with the woman in my small group, who knows nothing about my interest in these things, adding the bit about Peter and auras, I’ve concluded that God is trying to tell me something.

In the chapter previous to the the author of Acts mentioning Peter’s shadow, Peter and the apostles had a prayer service, which included these words:

And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:29-31 ESV, emphasis added).

Being filled with the Holy Spirit, they stepped onto the streets, and those close enough to be in Peter’s shadow were healed. I’m suggesting that they and especially Peter were so full of the Holy Spirit, God’s power surrounded them to the point that people nearby could experience it.

Getting Filled with the Holy Spirit

In my walk with Jesus lately, it’s true that in the last couple of weeks, I’ve experienced a new level of intimacy and power. My prayers have had more potency, my prophetic words have been clearer, and my worship of Jesus more heartfelt and Spirit-led.  I have made a point to go deeper with God, spending more time studying scripture, getting up earlier in the morning to pray in the Spirit, and to worship in the Spirit, and to take greater risks in faith. Perhaps I’m experiencing a spiritual breakthrough. I hope so, but I don’t really know.

Wednesday night, at youth group, I experienced tingling all over my body, especially on my head and in my temples, as I worshiped my Savior.  Afterwards, a young seer commented, unprompted, that she saw gold sparkles falling from the ceiling like a waterfall onto right where I was standing.  Weird, but cool. I certainly felt filled with the Holy Spirit that night; did the seer see that happen?

And did the seer today sense the residual nature of that?

For people who are seeing auras, what are you to do with that visual revelation?  Use it for your glory, or for God’s? In what way can your actions regarding your sigjt align with your values?

I have some thoughts, which I’ll share in a future post.
