Reader Questions and My Responses
I often receive reader emails and questions from seers, asking my opinion on this or that. Occasionally, I’ll blog the dialogue, as I think the greater community of my readers and other visitors might benefit.
Recently, a reader asked several questions that are well outside the norm of what I normally receive, and I thought I’d place the questions and responses in a long post, for a couple of reasons.
1. Other visitors may be experiencing similar visions and wonder what the heck they’re seeing. My thoughts may or may not be accurate, but…
2. …My responses will illustrate how I interpret these things through a supernatural worldview, rooted on the foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. See the worldview series and the podcasts on this. I am not a seer, but do rely on insight from the Holy Spirit in these responses, especially when there isn’t a lot of context given. Sometimes, however, I’m simply not able to discern what God is saying about these questions, and I have no background information or research material with which to interpret the question.
Some of you might think we are insane, deeply disturbed or very much in error (in which case, welcome! Keep clicking around and reading! You might start with the Worldview series of articles).
And others of you will enjoy the process of how I think about these odd things. You may want to print the pages, as this is a long post… either way, sit back and enjoy.
The Weird Stuff the Seer Saw
The reader asked my opinion about the nature of several unexplained phenomena the reader had seen:
- I see diamond sparklies light up and then disappear.
- I see black dots fly around the air and I’ve seen them stationary as well.
- I’ve seen a sparkly light up and one inch from it I see a black dot. They both disappear.
- I’ve see what I sensed was a war going on in my room (only once) …clear sparkles and black dots bouncing off one another.
- When I am in deep worship with God I see the sparkles and I’ve seen an intense neon blue sparkle with what seems like another world inside of it. It is very powerful. It has gotten very close to me and it did frighten me at first because of the sheer power it has. I’ve seen it a half dozen times. But not recently. Usually when I am in deep worship it comes and lights up.
- Last night at Bible study I saw a bunch of random clear sparklies in the room during and after.
- One evening I went to engage my husband to put an end to our recent disagreement and I saw a pink burst light near him that made me back up and shut my mouth. It seemed like a warning.
- When talking and praying with an acquaintance I saw clear sparklies behind her and somehow I know they were saying – go easy she is new to Jesus.
- I’ve had open visions while worshipping, and driving my car. And just sitting.
- I’ve seen a black dot fly out from a church congregation toward the pastor when he mentioned hopelessness.
How about seeing some even weirder stuff?
- I’ve seen a golden candlestick (overlay type vision) on a speaker at church.
- Once at night around 3 am I woke and I was still have in a dream when I looked up and to the left corner of the room and I saw two demonic faces watching what God was showing me in my dream. Behind them was, another face with glowing blue neon eyes.
- I use to wake up on the night and think there was a lightening storm somewhere in the distant because I noticed a flash of light in front of my eyes. I would go to the window and confirm there was no storm. So sometimes I experience what seems like a small flash of lightening in front of my face during the night.
- This is a feeling not a seeing question but I’ll put it out there…2 yrs ago approximately I started to feel what seemed like an edge of a feather on my fingers or hand or toes or feet. Initially I would check my extremity to see if something was touching it… now I recognize the touch and have a guess what it is. I would still like to know your opinion.
- When praying I noticed a ripple in the air near me
Additional Questions
- In your opinion can I practice “tuning in” better? Or is “tuning in” something only the Holy Spirit can do and has nothing to do with my “trying/efforts”?
- Also, a friend called me a seer but from reading different posts I think others would say I may “see” but not a seer. Could you offer your opinion here, too?
And my responses
1. I see diamond sparklies light up and then disappear.
I am not certain what it is you are seeing, exactly. I suspect your brain is picking up something in the spirit realm – something good, like angelic activity, – and interpreting it as sparkles. Your brain is like a radio receiver, that is trying to tune into a distant station, and it gets static, with occasional bursts of clarity, but not enough to tell exactly what is being said… I think that’s what’s going on when you see sparklies.
2. I see black dots fly around the air and I’ve seen them stationary as well.
I’d suggest the black dots represent the opposite of the sparklies (demonic activity). Again, it’s activity your brain is picking up. It doesn’t mean each dot is a demon… just demonic activity (there’s a difference).
3. I’ve seen a sparkly light up and one inch from it I see a black dot. They both disappear.
Your observations suggests that two opposites cancel each other out. I don’t think this is the case. I think of it as angelic activity attacking and neutralizing demonic activity.
4. I’ve see what I sensed was a war going on in my room (only once) …clear sparkles and black dots bouncing off one another.,
I think this observation is a clearer vision of what you are seeing in number 3.
5. When I am in deep worship with God I see the sparkles and I’ve seen an intense neon blue sparkle with what seems like another world inside of it. It is very powerful. It has gotten very close to me and it did frighten me at first because of the sheer power it has. I’ve seen it a half dozen times. But not recently. Usually when I am in deep worship it comes and lights up.
So, in this situation, your brain is tuning in more clearly to the things of God. The neon blue is a glimpse of the Holy Spirit in action. The fear is okay. Keep going after Jesus. God has more to show you, and it might be uncomfortable. That’s fine. God doesn’t promise comfort when he reveals more of himself to people. Often, in the Bible, people find themselves in awe and fear (but not the terror-kind of fear that demons bring).
My pastor likes to use the analogy of a toaster being plugged into the socket for a clothes dryer. We humans are like the toaster, and God is like the socket for the clothes dryer. When you plug in a toaster to such a socket, it might blow up because of the power suddenly available. Similarly, when God touches a person, odd things can happen to that person. (Please, don’t take the analogy too far, and don’t try this at home. I’ve not actually tried plugging a toaster into such an outlet!)
6. Last night at Bible study I saw a bunch of random clear sparklies in the room during and after.
Yes, this would be God releasing revelation and working on the hearts and minds of the people in the Bible study.
7. One evening I went to engage my husband to put an end to our recent disagreement and I saw a pink burst light near him that made me back up and shut my mouth. It seemed like a warning.
You probably reacted appropriately, discerning correctly. Perhaps it wasn’t the right time. I assume your disagreement was resolved at a different time…
A young seer once described to me seeing a dark presence on one member of a marriage, and a white presence on the other, and noted how there was a war between them! However, over time, that dark presence was defeated, and the marriage is much stronger today.
8. When talking and praying with an acquaintance I saw clear sparklies behind her and somehow I know they were saying – go easy she is new to Jesus.
Yes, the angelic activity – or Holy Spirit activity or perhaps God released the angel with this message– released a supernatural message of knowledge or wisdom – information or guidance you could not have known in the natural – to you.
9. I’ve had open visions while worshipping, and driving my car. And just sitting.
That’s awesome. Keep pushing in to these, but take care when you are driving.
John Wimber described his first vision, which came right after the first time one of his healing prayers actually healed someone. He saw a giant honeycomb over the city, state, nation, with globs of honey dropping on people. Some people had their hands out for more honey, others were unaware it was all around, and still others were trying to get the sticky sweet stuff off them. God told him the honey was God’s grace, and to never beg for healing again. A profound vision.
I suggest journaling yours.
10. I’ve seen a black dot fly out from a church congregation toward the pastor when he mentioned hopelessness.
Yes, so that would be demonic activity either attracted to him or sent at him, filling him with that emotion. It’s appropriate to intercede for him, or to go up to him (maybe with others), and say something like, “I sense that you have a spirit of hopelessness about you. Can we pray for you about that?” And then pray against the spirit of hopelessness and release the spirit of hope, joy, and peace, in Jesus name, and watch what happens.
You don’t even have to tell him what you saw. In fact, I wouldn’t. But what you see is directing you how to pray. See Gerry’s story.
Recall that Jesus only did what he saw the Father doing. Just what do you think he meant when he said that? Something in the spirit realm….
11. I’ve seen a golden candlestick (overlay type vision) on a speaker at church.
Yeah, that would represent a spiritual authority, or perhaps an angelic assignment for power and authority. Some seers can tell what kind of leader some one is (including their faults) by what they see in the spirit. Some seers can tell the characteristics of certain churches by observing the angel assigned to it outside…
12. Once at night around 3 am I woke and I was still have in a dream when I looked up and to the left corner of the room and I saw two demonic faces watching what God was showing me in my dream. Behind them was, another face with glowing blue neon eyes.
Yes, so those are demons… They are watching you. You should pray a blinding prayer against them; what I call a “stealth prayer.” (BLinding… you can pray a binding prayer as well, but that’s not a typo. I meant bLinding)… something like this:
Father, I ask that you cover us from the eyes and ears of the enemy. Hide us. Shield us, so that they cannot see us, and that their spiritual attacks are confused and miss us. I ask that you release angels from Heaven to guard us, and drive the dark spirits away. I ask this in the Name of Jesus.
Did you get the sense that the entity with the glowing blue neon eyes was good or evil? If good, it’s an angel waiting for you to release it through a prayer of command against the enemies. (Jesus instructed us that whatever we loose on earth, will be loosed in Heaven (the spirit realm). See the Hearing God report for more on this.) If bad, it has authority over the other 2 guys. Which leads me to…
Combating Night Terrors, Nightmares, and Sleep Paralysis
If nightmares and other fear encounters persist[ref]Not all of these are related to things in the spirit realm. Sometimes physiological reasons, stress in life, bad food we eat, movies or shows watched, etc, can shape our minds to release nightmares.[/ref] , try this before you go to bed: take time to pray over your room and house. Open a door or window, and tell the wicked spirits to get out, and then seal it in the name of Jesus.
It’s best if your spouse agrees with you in this prayer, but if not, do it anyway.
And ask the Father to release an angel from heaven to come and guard your room and house from these dark spirits while you sleep. Seriously. Every spiritual blessing is available to you because you are in Christ, and Christ is next to the Father in Heaven. So boldly ask.
13…. I use to wake up on the night and think there was a lightening storm somewhere in the distant because I noticed a flash of light in front of my eyes…
I really don’t know what you’re seeing in this situation. Maybe spiritual warfare?
For instance, when my dad was in Vietnam, he was stationed on Cam Ranh Bay and they were frequently attacked. He said sometimes at night, all they could see were flashes and tracers and flares in the mountain, but were unaware exactly who was shooting at whom (units from Republic of Korea (ROK)were guarding the Bay) or what was going on. They just knew a battle was being waged, and they rooted for the ROK Army. Perhaps in the spirit realm, your brain is picking up something similar… and so root for the Army of the Rock!
14. …Initially I would check my extremity to see if something was touching it… now I recognize the touch and have a guess what it is. I would still like to know your opinion.
Again, I don’t have enough context to understand what was going on, but seers do feel, smell, taste, etc things in the spiritual realm, for sure. Did you experience a healing touch during this? Or did you release a healing touch or some other gift for you or to be released to others? If so, I’d suggest an angel was delivering to you a spiritual gift from God.
15. When praying I noticed a ripple in the air near me.
Well, there is power in prayer. Prayer releases and binds things in the spirit realm, and believers in Jesus Christ have authority and power to do so.
16. In your opinion can I practice “tuning in” better? Or is “tuning in” something only the Holy Spirit can do and has nothing to do with my “trying/efforts”?
Regarding tuning in, yes God is sovereign and doesn’t “need” us to press in. He often will pursue and reveal things to people without them seeking, but I think he desires and values us pressing in for more.
It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out. Proverbs 25:2
Not everything is revealed yet and God purposely hides things, but God gives the glory of kings to those who search out the things of God.
I strongly recommend reading and studying and applying Paul’s advice in Colossians 3:1-17.Make it a lifestyle.
I’d suggest attending a supernatural ministry school, if you access to one, like the School of Kingdom Ministry or the one run by Jonathan Welton, (a seer and author of The School of Seers… the dude is awesome, but the school is not specifically about seeing.) Take care, though, and don’t get tricked into attending some New Age counterfeit to the real thing.
The practice of tuning in is a lifestyle of changing our perspective to match God’s perspective, which is kind of a way of life, and since Jesus is the Truth, the Way, and the Life, the perfect imprint of God’s nature in human form, pursuing Jesus is a good start. It’s a lifelong pursuit of Jesus, who is way ahead of us… and we won’t be “caught up” to be just like him until he returns.
In the meantime, the pursuit of changing perspectives to match Jesus’ is the biblical definition of “repent.” Check out this article.
17. Also, a friend called me a seer but from reading different posts I think others would say I may “see” but not a seer. Could you offer your opinion here, too?”
Yes, you are a seer.
You asked how/where I learned these responses. That would require a very complicated answer. A lot of studying symbols in the Bible, studying how God reveals himself to people, how angelic and demonic activity interface with each other and our reality, how our brains/bodies interact with the spirit realm and interpret these interactions… and a lot of relying on the Holy Spirit for direction, revelation, and guidance in how I respond.
Hope these helped.
