Another Late Night with Your Sleepless Seer Child

Our seer child is 10 (although our 2 year old is displaying similar tendencies), and while the seeing gift faded there for a couple of years, it’s started to come back with a vengeance, as we thought it might…, as some seers warned us it would.

And so I’m typing this out late at night, on a work-night when I have to get up early in the morning and a school night when she has to get up early. I’m sitting in a chair in my daughter’s room, listening to her not-so even breathing as she tries to settle her fearful mind down and fall asleep.

Recently, for the first time in a while, she has seen a couple of spirit entities that have unnerved her. They were vivid.

And this unsettling fear has descended on her. We’ve read scriptures; we’ve prayed; we’ve commanded the dark entities away. She’s unsettled, so strongly, she thought she might vomit. And so, I finally shut off the football game, and came to sit in her room at the head of her bed.

Sometimes, it takes the patient presence of a parent to sooth the seer child’s fears.

I’m writing this for other parents, who sometimes are at their wits ends with how to help their fearful spiritually-sensitive children, and especially parents of a seer child. I know this, because I receive many emails from parents asking for help or thanking me for this site.

Have patience. Don’t despair. Continue to go to the Father, and help set your child’s mind on things above, not things here or below. It’s a process. Don’t get frustrated. Don’t freak out.

Examine your life to see what may have triggered a shift in the spirit realm to attract attention. For us, I can think of a couple of things which may have attracted the ire of enemy spirits (e.g., I’m preparing to podcast again, my youth group is starting up, and we’re starting a small group on spiritual gifts. In addition, we’re pushing for a spiritual breakthrough at church).

Similarly, consider physical conditions. For her, she may be approaching puberty, which will flood her brain with all sorts of hormones, triggering the parts that are spiritually-sensitive (i.e., the pineal gland).  Or perhaps it was a recent change in our diet and an effort to detoxify our bodies.  Perhaps that made her brain spiritually sensitive.  Or maybe it’s a combination of everything or something else. Who knows?

The important thing is to be loving, fearless and solid, and read Psalm 142:

With my voice I cry out to the LORD;
with my voice I plead for mercy to the LORD.
I pour out my complaint before him;
I tell my trouble before him.
When my spirit faints within me,
you know my way!
In the path where I walk
they have hidden a trap for me.
Look to the right and see:
there is none who takes notice of me;
no refuge remains to me;
no one cares for my soul.
I cry to you, O LORD;
I say, “You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living.”
Attend to my cry,
for I am brought very low!
Deliver me from my persecutors,
for they are too strong for me!
Bring me out of prison,
that I may give thanks to your name!
The righteous will surround me,
for you will deal bountifully with me.

Father: I ask that you release an angel to guard my daughter tonight from all forces of darkness. I ask that this angel stand guard in her room, and will fill her sleep with peaceful and restful dreams, and nothing dark will disturb her. And I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Ahh… Her breathing is deep and she’s snoring softly. Sleep well, my dear one. The Lord is with you.

Comments

  1. I play worship music all night while I sleep (Wbgl). I have my radio on 24/7. It’s on low enough I don’t hear it but it makes a huge difference will I’m sleeping! If for reason it gets turned off or unplugged I tend to get weird dreams again and turn it back on a.s.ap.

    I also found having the radio on so I can hear it helps if I had a weird spiritual encounter durning the day. It’s peaceful falling sleep to worship music. This might also sound silly but sleeping with a little light on hugely helped me as well. It was empowering knowing I could “see” what was happening in my room that I wasn’t helpless in the dark. Having the confidence helped. It’s a temporary fix that really helped me in a difficult time with night Issues.

    Lastly saying a prayer of protection over myself before turning the light off to sleep made a huge difference. I would ask God where He was in my room. I would get beautiful pictures of the Holy Spirit standing by bed and angles guarding me. I don’t know what I would done without those pictures to get me through the night!

  2. I also do routine house cleanings especially in my bedroom. I’ve found spirits like to hide in my bedroom for some reason. A bedroom is suppose a safe place and targeting someone while they are helpless is what the enemy loves doing.

    Lastly I can’t watch graphic, cult based, horror, dark or sexual violence in tvs or films. I often feel spirits in my bedroom after watching like the Vampire Diaries (which Ive stopped watching) as I’m trying to fall alseep. I’ve given up a lot of tvs and films due to this revaluation.

    A small dose of melatonin 1mg greatly helps as well if I’m having sleeping issues due to spiritual issues. It helps me fall asleep and takes some of stress away.

    • Doug. Check your house for occult artifacts.You consistently refer to “my seer child”, like it’s a shiny badge of honor. (?).
      She is tormented by demons. Use your prayers to cover her and send the spirits away. Clean your house of occult items, they can be innocent gifts, or otherwise (art, jewelry etc)..
      And you and the wife, is there generational demonic oppresion or service that you may have over looked?
      This is so offbase, this emphasis on pseudo “gifts” like auras. Are you a new ager, or from new age like some seem to be lately?

      • Thanks for your comments, Frank. We believed that a video game she was playing opened her to a spirit of fear, which brought an attack. I address the “portals” that invite spiritual attacks here and here. However, she’s still a “seer.” The reason I mention “seer child” is because I’m differentiating from the children in our family who do not see in the spirit realm. There are no generational oppressions in our family, as we are in Christ. There are many misconceptions about what generational curses mean, and I’ll have a post explaining what that means soon.

        I invite you to explore the site. The seer gift/ability isn’t a pseudo gift. It’s an ability some people have. Calling it pseudo is akin to calling biblical figures like Asaph false. See http://seerssee.com/seers-and-worship-leaders/ for more on seers mentioned in the scripture. What might make someone false is under which spirit they operate.

        • This “gift” is not edifying the work of Christ. It’s demonic in nature. Your chasing down a rabbit trail of deception.
          Sadly common occurence these days.

  3. Hi Frank,

    Appreciate your concerns about this matter. But there are two sides of a coin.

    It looks to you as if it is all wrong. But to me it seems that Doug is a brave Christian who is searching for solutions for his child. Brave, because he himself is no seer at all and he also wants to help other people with the same problems.

    Many things are caused by demons. As a Christian you can send them away. As a non-christian it is difficult and dangerous.

    Sometimes the demons come back and I think especially with seer-children who are more vulnerable than others. Then it’s good there are parents who can protect them.

    The other side of the coin.

    Is it new-age if you see demons? Is it wrong to see angels? Is it wrong to see what demons torment people so that you can help them to get rid of those evil beings? (Sometimes in the form of lights around the people or auras.)

    Is it wrong to see the future of your country to warn your people, that unless they repent the bad future will surely come into existence?

    Is it wrong when you see that the storm is created by demons, so that you (with a group of fellow-christians) can rebuke the evil spirits and the storm suddenly stops?

    —–

    New age is when you are going to deal with the evil spirits and trying to get profit out of it. In the form of healing, power, money, etc. But as a Christian you know the end will always be very bad.

    Christian behavior should be to see the demons and send them away. But the seeing alone of them is no new-age.

    The seeing of strange things alone is no new age. But what you do with this information is important. Do you use it for yourself, or do you glorify the work of the Lord with it. That is making the difference.

    Hope this helps you, Frank, to see it in another perspective,

    Many greetings,

    Marten
